Design Intern

Job Description

The Landmark Design Group has a need for a Design Intern who will be responsible for assisting the Partners. This will include specifying and purchasing all furniture, flooring, wall coverings, and finishes for all project locations. The Interior Design Intern assists with all interior design of projects large and small involving new buildings and interior renovations. In this role you will gain visibility to the various entities of Landmark Design Group while developing insights into the design of a large organization.

Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • To assist in the development of  various design layouts
  • Develop construction documents for interior remodels; review architectural design documents
  • Assist in preparing estimates for design projects, solicit bids, award work and manage suppliers
  • Research new products and trends for office environments; best value to meet business needs
  • Develop and maintain customer alignment and customer service to internal customers
  • Maintain and update resource library

Qualified candidates should possess the following criteria:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field; or the equivalent; office design coursework completion preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; SketchUp knowledge is a plus
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Creative, motivated and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and customer service focus
  • Interpersonal effectiveness in influencing others without having direct authority
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to reprioritize work to meet changing business needs
